The Oakwood Resort is conveniently accessible to a wide variety of area attractions, including the Huron Country Playhouse summer stock theatre. Just a few minutes away is the Pinery Provincial Park with 4,000 acres of woodlands and miles of sandy beach, Grand Bend Motorplex, Lambton Heritage Museum, a petting farm and horseback riding.

Drive 20 minutes north to the art shops and boutiques of Bayfield or walk into Grand Bend for shopping. Also available are rentals of bicycles, canoes, jet skis, cross-country skis, fishing and leisure boat charters and sport parachuting lessons.

Pinery Provincial Park

Early each Spring, usually in March, you can view a spectacular phenomenon when tens of thousands of Trumpeter Tundra Swans use the area as a resting stop before continuing their annual migration north to the arctic. An amazing sight not only to behold, but also to hear! Part of a unique ecosystem, the Pinery is known to host over 300 Bird & Butterfly species.

The forest itself is part of the Carolinian Oak Savannah complete with informative hiking
trails with some having special access for the handicapped. There's also canoeing, beaches,
a visitor's centre, picnic areas, occasional
slide shows and short seminars from a variety
of celebrities.
