Pinery Provincial Park, 15 minutes away

Early each spring, usually in March, you can view a spectacular phenomenon when tens of thousands of Trumpeter Tundra Swans use the area as a resting stop before continuing their annual migration north to the arctic. An amazing sight not only to behold, but also to hear! Part of a unique ecosystem, the Pinery is known to host over 300 bird and butterfly species.
The forest itself is part of the Carolinian Oak Savannah complete with informative hiking
trails with some having special access for the handicapped. There's also canoeing, beaches,
a visitor's centre, picnic areas, occasional slide shows and short seminars from a variety
of celebrities.
